On 14th September 2022, BBA Retail Management (V Semester) students from Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore visited the MDPH manufacturing unit along with their faculties. The students were enthralled to know about the world’s largest Raw Agarbatti factory, MDPH and how it contributes to the employment of unskilled labourers, out of which 75% are female labourers.

During the visit, all the steps of the production process were covered, from raw materials to machines to processing units. After the thorough factory tour, students got the opportunity to meet the Director & Partner of MDPH, Mr. Anshul Agrawal, who with his super-eminent management skills is heading Operations, Administration, Finance and HR at MDPH and is managing more than 3,500 people at its 5 manufacturing units with a cumulative production space of 8,50,000 sq. ft. and 36 offices across India. And not to mention, he became the youngest Web Developer in MP by developing the Indore city website that too at just the age of 13.

A chance to interact with a Director and IITian was certainly a golden opportunity for the students. During the session, Mr. Anshul explained the technical aspects of running the world’s largest Raw Agarbatti factory, gave valuable insights & shared the vision of MDPH with the students. He also emphasised the importance of the R&D department and how innovation is the key to sustenance for every business. Interactive QA session followed by the factory tour gave students the opportunity to see and learn more about the production process.

In this unit, MDPH produces raw incense products such as Raw Agarbatti, Raw Dhoop Cones, Raw Dhoop Sticks as well as finished goods of Hawan Samagri and Sambrani Cups. MDPH’s flagship brand and one of India’s leading incense sticks brands, Zed Black processes more than 3 crore incense sticks daily and exports to more than 41 countries.
