The students of Daly College, Indore along with their faculty Ms. Yamini Chhajlani visited Mysore Deep Perfumery House Unit 3, Rampipliya on October 1st, 2022. Established in 1882, DCBS is the first undergraduate business school in India to receive the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) accreditation and also has the approval of the Quality Assurance Agency for higher education, an accreditation body of the British Government. DCBS is a leader in research and innovation and is known for its cutting-edge curriculum and modern teaching pedagogy.

The students were curious to find out how Raw Agarbatti without perfume is made in the world’s largest Raw Agarbatti factory. Their excitement was also heightened when they learned that the unit had more than 600 machines. In addition to the factory visit, the students also had the chance to meet the Director & Partner of MDPH, Mr. Ankit Agrawal, who joined the family business in 2004 and since then has been looking after Imports, Exports, Sales, Marketing, Legal & Perfumery Development at MDPH. Under his supervision, the group has grown into 36 regional sales offices in India & International office in New York. With his efforts & leadership, MDPH has eventually been ranked among the top three manufacturers of Incense Sticks in India.

The students were privileged to meet the Director & Partner of a thriving group. The exposure enlightened the students to such an extent that they were inquisitive to know more about Production, Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, sustainability, etc and had so many questions for Mr. Agrawal, who in return answered all their queries. The session continued for 30-40 minutes and will certainly be inscribed firmly in the minds of students for a lifetime.

It was indeed a wonderful experience for the students to visit the factory and see things up close. They were also astonished to know that MDPH offers over 1200 products in 12 different categories, employs over 3500 people, about 75% of whom are women and processes 3 crore incense sticks daily in its 5 units spread over an area of 10 lac square feet!
