June 29, 2022MDPH’s Directors & Partners- Mr. Ankit Agrawal and Mr. Anshul Agrawal recently got featured in The Free Press Journal’s 83rd edition of Brand Sutra. The Free Press Journal is one of the oldest English daily newspapers from Mumbai with a heritage of 92 years of publication. Brand Sutra is a weekly page of the newspaper that focuses on conversations with the custodians of major brands.
In conversation with Brand Sutra, Agrawal brothers shared their experiences with their family business, the challenges they faced, the change they brought and the impact they created. Mr. Anshul Agrawal who heads Operations, Administration, Finance and HR at MDPH while sharing his experience said, “When I joined, there were no machines; all the materials were hand-processed traditionally. Now, we have completely transformed into a state-of-the-art organized factory.” Mr, Anshul joined the family business in 2011 after completing a management development program in the family business from IIM Ahmedabad and since then has been taking MDPH to another level with his outstanding management skills.
“The growth could be 12-15% only this year and will continue in the long term. Currently, we are a leading manufacturer of incense sticks, processing more than 30 million sticks (around 15 lakh packets) every day”, says Mr. Ankit Agrawal who looks after Imports, Exports, Sales, Marketing, Legal & Perfumery Development at MDPH. With his experience and expertise, MDPH now has 35 regional sales offices in India & International offices in New York & Kathmandu.
Being the second generation leading MDPH and taking forth its legacy, Agrawal brothers with their efforts, smart work and knowledge have brought MDPH among the top three manufacturers of incense sticks in India. Today, MDPH has 5 manufacturing units spread across an area of 10 lac square feet, employs over 4000 workers, 80% of whom are women, exports to over 40 countries, and has become a household name with its 12 brands in different categories while continuing its mission of fulfilling all the needs of Indian households.
