Our Founder Mr. Prakash Agrawal’s success as an entrepreneur has featured in the prestigious India Today magazine in an aptly titled “KhushbuonKaSaudagar”  article.

The eldest among his three siblings, our Founder was born into a humble family. His father ran a small grocery shop. Growing up with a keen entrepreneurial spirit, he ventured into various businesses, including hair oil, soaps, and detergents, but faced challenges and setbacks.

The turning point in his entrepreneurial journey came when he set his sights on the incense sticks industry. Being aware that Bangalore was the epicenter of high-quality incense manufacturing, Mr. Prakash Agrawal aspired to bring this expertise to his hometown, Indore. In pursuit of this goal, he traveled to Bangalore to learn the intricacies of incense manufacturing.

In 1992, our director founded MDPH, marking the beginning of a remarkable entrepreneurial journey. One of his distinctive moves was breaking the tradition of using pictures of Hindu deities on the incense packets. He believed that people discard the packets after use.  This is extremely hurtful to the sentiments and best avoided.

Over the last 31 years, Mr. Prakash Agarwal has transformed MDPH into a colossal business empire. The company’s diverse product range spans cooking oil, hand sanitizer, hand wash, henna, soya chunks, confectionery goods, and more. Impressively, MDPH has become a significant employer, with over 4000 workers, and a noteworthy aspect is that 80% of the workforce comprises women.

In alignment with global expansion goals, Mr. Agrawal established an overseas office in New York, reflecting his forward-thinking and global outlook. Despite reaching the pinnacle of success, he has maintained a simple and down-to-earth demeanor. Mr. Prakash Agrawal, even today, engages in routine activities like morning walks and takes joy in playing with his grandchildren after work.
