Mr. Ankit & Mr. Anshul Agrawal, Directors & Partners, MDPH were recently invited as speakers to the “Fireside Chat” by SPJIMR. SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) is a leading B-school in India and is counted among the top management colleges in Mumbai. It is a part of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, India’s premier non-profit institution that has worked for the cause of education and for preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage for decades. SPJIMR has been accredited by the prestigious AACSB International and its various programmes are accredited by AICTE, AMBA (UK), and NBA. Among SPJIMR’s offerings is a Family Managed Business program, of which Mr. Ankit Agrawal is an alumnus of FMB 10.

The Fireside Chat was held at Hotel Essentia, Indore on 21st November 2022 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm and was moderated by Mr. Saurabh Singh Mehta, Executive Director-Kriti Industries and alum of FMB 10. In the conversation, Mr. Ankit and Mr. Anshul shared their experiences of managing and leading the family business as the second generation. They also discussed their successes and failures as they built the business into a global brand. While Mr. Ankit emphasised the importance of price & growth, Mr. Anshul shed light on the importance of values in a family business.

All the young FMB participants of the event were amazed by how an Agarbatti business is doing wonders. They also learned the importance of strong relationships, backward integration and branding in taking the family business to another level. It was indeed a learning experience that gave the participants a deep insight into the making of a global business. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session. SPJIMR thanked the directors for sharing their stories at the Fireside Chat & inspiring the young generation. Afterwards, the event concluded with dinner.

Mr. Ankit & Mr. Anshul are true examples of what honesty and hard work can accomplish. Today, under their leadership, Mysore Deep Perfumery House has grown into 12 brands, offering over 1200 products. Also, it exports to more than 41 countries, processes three crore incense sticks daily, sells 1.5 million packs per day and employs over 3500 employees, of which 80% are women. With their dedication and hard work, the group is growing every day.

And with that, our Directors continue to write the tale of a business that started in a garage & is now leading the market.
