In an exclusive feature for Media Brief, our Director, Mr. Anshul Agrawal, provided an insightful overview of MDPH’s journey over the past year and an exciting roadmap for 2025.
Reflecting on 2024, our Director highlighted MDPH’s diversification into the home and hygiene sectors while strengthening its foothold in the agarbatti and prayer essentials market. The year saw remarkable growth, driven by a rising inclination toward spiritual and wellness-oriented products. Expanding into home essentials such as reed diffusers, essential oils, and vaporizer oils under our D2C brand Orvahome.com was a strategic move aligned with evolving consumer preferences.
A strong advocate for employee well-being, our Director mentioned several initiatives he implemented to enhance work-life balance and reduce attrition rates. New policies, including half-day leave options and mindfulness breaks, were executed to ensure a healthier and happier workplace. Activities like the Zed Black Premier League, birthday celebrations, and team engagement programs fostered camaraderie, enhancing both productivity and teamwork.
On the business front, 2024 was a year of transformation. MDPH initiated the implementation of an ERP system to streamline operations, and plans are underway to launch a distributor-focused app for direct order placement. This move aims to optimize the supply chain while enhancing distributor convenience. The company also embarked on rationalizing its product line by focusing on high-demand SKUs and eliminating less popular ones for improved efficiency.
Looking ahead, our Director unveiled MDPH’s foray into the gifting sector with a diverse range of aroma gift boxes priced between ₹100 and ₹3000. Recognizing the corporate gifting trend, these curated fragrance experiences serve as thoughtful, long-lasting alternatives to conventional perishable gifts like sweets and chocolates. Quick commerce will play a pivotal role in distributing these offerings to customers seeking meaningful gifts.
Our Director envisions 2025 as a year of immense positivity and transformation. MDPH is gearing up for expansion with a new office space accommodating 150 employees, featuring modern meeting rooms and a state-of-the-art conference room—an important step in fostering collaboration and innovation. The company also plans to expand its fragrance portfolio into new categories, including car fresheners, pocket perfumes, and body washes, while navigating the competitive FMCG landscape.
Investments in technology, supply chain enhancements, and collaborations with local kirana stores through Kirana Club will also strengthen the brand’s market presence. With a keen focus on employee upskilling, continuous learning, and AI integration, MDPH is committed to adapting to emerging industry trends and delivering superior customer experiences.
Our Director Mr. Anshul Agrawal also emphasized the importance of self-belief, continuous learning, and surrounding oneself with positive influences. He advocates for leveraging AI, cultivating reading habits, and fostering an innovative spirit to drive success. As MDPH embraces upcoming opportunities, the focus remains on establishing Zed Black as a leader in both premium and mass-market fragrance segments.
Finally, our Director emphasized the power of strong belief—in oneself, in one’s team, and in India’s transformative growth story. By harnessing emerging trends and embracing change, MDPH is poised for a future defined by success and innovation.
