oday counterfeiting is a growing menace globally. In hope of earning a quick buck, sellers start selling fake replicas of popular brands, such as Zed Black, the flagship brand of Mysore Deep Perfumery House (MDPH). We have been assiduously conducting raids to stop the manufacturing and sale of counterfeit Zed Black products. Acting on tip off, teams from MDPH along with Nepal Commercial department conducted raid in four different areas of Nepalgunj.

The raid was conducted on New Deepak General store in Khauri area, Jyoti Store in Nepalgunj area, Akash store in Nepalgunj area, where duplicate Zed Black 3 in 1, Manthan 150 agarbatti boxes, pouches and zippers were found. The whole stock comprising of huge quantities of fake incence sticks, labels & pouches were seized by the police and the shops and manufacturing facility have been sealed. The similarity of logo/artwork/ design rang the alarm bells for the raid to be conducted.

Speaking about the raid, Mr Ankit Agarwal, Director MDPH shared, “After raids in parts of India like Siliguri, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar we have successfully raided in Nepal as a part of our on-going war against agarbatti counterfeiting in Domestic and International market. Based on proper information, we took help of the Nepal Commercial department. We conducted raid on New Deepak General Store in Khauri area, Jyoti Store and Akash Store in Nepalgunj area. All this is part of our drive to ensure only genuine products are made available to our loyal customers and they are not fooled by buying spurious goods which will harm. We urge customers to check packs properly before buying them & avoid buying any similar or duplicate product.”

MDPH is a major player in the Rs. 6000-crore organized and unorganized Indian incense sticks market. It is these counterfeit goods which are harmful to the environment, hamper Government Revenues & give the original products and companies a bad name. These raids will ensure that people use only original Zed Black and MDPH products like Zed Black 3-in-1, Manthan, Duva, Panchdeep , Arij etc.
