The sale of fake goods has blossomed, as have the problems that come with the illegal products. Piracy and the sale of counterfeit items is a large industry and growing, as it appears. In hope of making quick money, sellers start trading forged replicas of popular brands, such as Zed Black, the flagship brand of Mysore Deep Perfumery House (MDPH). We have been tirelessly carrying out raids to stop the manufacturing and sale of counterfeit Zed Black products.

The raid was conducted on Pooja provision and Mukesh Food Products, Kotma, Anooppur distt., where stock worth approximately 3 Lakh was seized which mainly comprised of huge quantities of fake incense sticks, labels, raw material & dye. The shops and manufacturing facility have been sealed and the manufacturers Santosh Yadav and Rajkumar Jasiwal have been put being bars. The similarity of logo, artwork and design were a major tip-off for the raid to be conducted.

Speaking about the raid, Ms. Shivani Tamrakar, Legal Department MDPH shared, “After raids in parts of India like Siliguri, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar and other countries like Nepal; we have successfully raided in Kotma, Anooppur District, M.P. as a part of our on-going war against agarbatti counterfeiting in the Domestic and International market. Based on proper information, we took help of the local police department. We conducted raid on Pooja provision and Mukesh Food Products. We urge our customers to check the packets properly before buying them & avoid buying any similar or duplicate product.”MDPH is a major player in the Rs. 6000-crore organized and unorganized Indian incense sticks market.

As long as there is a gap between the haves and have-not in the society, as long as we measure our worth by the brands we own, and as long as we downplay the behind-the scene-effort, there will always be a demand for counterfeit consumption. Such raids will ensure that people use only original Zed Black and MDPH products like Zed Black 3-in-1, Manthan, Duva, Panchdeep , Arij etc.
